Permissions and Access

In Aptible and Comply the concept of permissions helps administrators controls who has access and ability to make changes on various features.

Permissions exist for for Account Owners, across all Aptible products, as well as within products for specific permissions.

  • Account Owners have full Read/Write, including billing and user management (across all Aptible products)
  • Comply Owners have full Read/Write, excluding billing and user management
  • Rooms Collaborators have full Read, but can only Write to things that are assigned to them such as controls, evidence, risks, tickets, and assets, plus they can invite customers to Rooms.
  • Collaborators have full Read, but can only Write to things that they create or are assigned to them such as controls, evidence, tickets, and assets (excluding people).

Setting and Change Permissions

Setting & changing permissions:

  • Account Owners and Comply Owners can be set on account.aptible.com.
  • Initial users are Owners and subsequent invites from within the Comply product areas (Rooms, GRC) are set as Collaborators by default.
  • Collaborators receiving write access happens on the local level.

Set Up Permissions

Only Account Owners and Comply Owners can change people's permissions. The first person to setup an account is automatically assigned as an Owner.

To set up permissions for new Account Owners and Comply Owners, as an Owner:

  1. Navigate to account.aptible.com
  2. There you'll see {My Company} Settings
  1. Click "Members” in the left-hand panel under “MYCOMPANY SETTINGS”
  2. Click on "Invite New Member"
  1. Type in the users email and select or add an appropriate Role
  1. Click "Send Invitation" button
